Live And Kicking

It may sound even more deranged than usual, but Conny Plankton has been offered the possibility of playing live. This presents no small share of problems, since the usual Conny Plankton approach is to prepare layers and layers of editing with additional samples, loops and beats. So for this live mix, the base tracks were stripped down to basics, and live overdubs added from the Roland Tweak S1 and Sonicware Ambient Ø Synths. So its a live mix, possibly to be used as the basis for a live future performance. Check it Out!

Damage Control is a series of recordings and mixes made by the febrile brain of Conny Plankton, lo this August ov 2026. Hardware devices include the Keystep 37 and Beatstep Pro from Arturia, the Behringer Proton and Neutron Desktop Synths, the Sonicstate Ambient Ø and the Nifty Eurorack. Software VSTs include the Diva, SH-101, Hive, Repro 1, Filterscape and Massive X, together with the TR-909 VST Drum Machine. Add layers of filters and effects, loops and samples to develop an album which traverses the rhythmic and the atonal, the melodic and the abrasive. Damage Control (or Damage for short) was a local character of great individuality. The ideas and images for each track where inspired by different sections of a painting he made where Creativity and the Chaotic abound in every area.

The Lord Of Misrule

A special Conny Plankton Christmas Mix to round off 2025: The idea for this mix developed while transcribing and editing a series of old MiniDisc recordings. In amongst the Field Recordings were a series of long recordings made with my Family over various Christmases some 20 years or so ago: Brass Bands and Shopper crowds were rearranged and intermixed with sequencer patters and additional textures from the Repro-1 and Hive VST Synths. The Final Mix is a disorienting soundscape of distant brass instruments, subliminal voices and sequencer synths. Merry Christmas Folks!
