There Be Strange

The final Conny Plankton album of 2024 sees a new series of recordings and mixes of further explorations with the Arturia Keystep 37 Controller and Sequencer – now put to use in arranging various VST Synths, but also controlling sequences and arps alongside hardware devices such as the Nifty Eurorack Set up and the Roland MC505 Groovebox. Throughout all of this are suitably eclectic samples and loops, together with filters and effects in abundance.

37

A new series of recordings from Conny Plankton sees the introduction of the Arturia Keystep 37 Synth into the fold and a series of explorations of sequences, loops and Arps with a range of different VST Synths. Into the party came the Nifty Eurorack set up, the Roland MC505 Groovebox and additional loops and samples. A bit of everything in here folks!

Curlew

A new series of recordings sees a series of mixes and explorations based around the use of two new modules in the Nifty Eurorack system – an envelope follower to sync up external sound sources direct into Eurorack and a vector based wavetable module to allow manipulation of sequences and oscillators. Of course, into this were woven suitably esoteric samples, beats and sequences, VST Synths and different hardware devices. The final mixes span a whole series of approaches and styles, but with the Conny Plankton stamp of the oddball odd. Let madness reign and chaos prevail!

Proud To Be Weird

The Adventure continues, with a new series of recordings from Conny Plankton. Much use was made this time round of recordings made from external sources to be filtered, mutilated and mixed alongside samples, loops, and hardware and software synths. The Final Mixes span a whole series of different approaches and styles – but fear not, for all are have that Conny Plankton stamp of strangeness. Proud to be weird!

Never The Same Way Twice

A new series of recordings from the warped mind of Conny Plankton  features mixes and explorations using old minidisc based field recordings, the Filterscape, Hive  and Massive X VST Synths; Hardware synths and the Nifty Eurorack system, and banks of heavily treated samples and loops. Most of the minidisc recordings were made from a visit to Sweden some 20 years ago, which can be seen in various titles for tracks. A treat for the head awaits!

Of Scars And Memories

Of Scars and Memories is a new series of recordings and mixes released by Conny Plankton in this July of 2024. The Nifty Eurorack featured heavily in most of the mixes, adding elements of chaos and ASMR textures. Also featured were a range of hardware synths and devices and stellar performances from VST Synths such as Hive, Massive, Massive X and Filterscape. Interwoven into the mixes were a series of heavily filtered archive recordings recently rediscovered on MiniDisc. Expect the unexpected here!

Straight

Straight is a new series of recordings from Conny Plankton using various devices and software. A loose common theme seemed to be working with archive recordings from old MiniDiscs made some 20 years ago. Into these were interwoven samples, loops and beats, hardware devices such as the Roland S-1 Tweak, the Arturia MicroFreak Hybrid Synth, the Roland MC505 Groovebox, the Arturia Beatstep Pro Sequencer and the Nifty Eurorack system. The results range from stomping beat based mixes, to ambient soundscapes, to deranged sonic explorations.

semicolon

A new series of recordings from Conny Plankton sees continued explorations with big time use of the Filterscape VST FX Plug in; drum based loops and patterns; heavily modulated field recordings; the synced up VST Synths of Hive, Massive, Massive X and Largo; treated samples; hardware synths and weirdness. Big mention must be made to the RX Audio Editor and its stripping out of key instruments from samples; and the rather excellent Filterscape VST Effects processor from UHE. The Final Mixes have mutated into all sorts of different directions as they began to take on a life of their own – but all marked with the Conny Plankton Stamp of Oddball Odd. The title itself refers to a serious operation undertaken during the editing stage of the recordings.

Getting There

Spring is just around the corner, and here are a new series of recordings from Conny Plankton. The recording sessions started off life with further explorations with the Roland S1 Tweak – however, these soon evolved into working alongside mutated loops, treated samples and heavily edited field recordings. Core beats were used big time with the development of dense layers of sound and the Conny Plankton stamp of aural derangement.

Neurodivergence

A new series of recordings from Conny Plankton sees further explorations with loops, VST Synths, Field Recordings and assorted hardware devices. These sessions started life with the unifying theme of bringing the Roland S1 Tweak Synth to centre stage and having everything evolve and develop around it. However, as is often the case, other samples and synths soon demanded an equal right to be heard and a whole series of new mutated mixes developed. So here we have a series of tracks which cover a range of styles and genres, with trance and ambient, industrial and atonal, all fused together with the Conny Plankton stamp of whatever.

Tweak

A new series of recordings from Conny Plankton based on initial explorations with the Roland S1 Tweak – a stylophone-sized Synth that plays sequences ranging from techno loops to atonal soundscapes. Here it is put through its paces – as solo ventures, and in sync and alongside different hardware devices such as the Arturia MicroFreak  and Behringer Neutron Synths, the Roland MC505 Groovebox and  software VST Synths such as the beloved UHE Hive. There are a whole universe of different genres, styles and approaches here. Enjoy folks!

The Hidden Key

The first series of recordings of 2024 see a series of exploration with various VST and hardware synths in sync with each other, in conflict and harmony, working through numerous ideas and experimentations. The Final Mixes are very varied in terms of style, genre, and approaches, from trance to atonal to modular synth electronics. And it's all for you!
